Prince Andrew held by guards in mistaken identity

Prince Andrew was recently held by armed guards at Buckingham Palace in a case of mistaken identity. Following a high alert on the palace grounds after an intruder was arrested two days earlier, guards ordered the Prince to put his hands up and get on the ground.

The 53-year old son of the Queen and Duke of York was finally release only after he proved his identity.

In response to London Metropolitan Police’s apology, Prince Andrew responded with light humor in a statement to the press.

“I am grateful for their apology and look forward to a safe walk in the garden in the future,” he said.

While not Prince Andrew may not be as recognizable as Kate Middleton or Prince William, he is known for his active role in bolstering UK international trade relations- not as exciting as having a baby or Kate’s wardrobe perhaps, but important nonetheless.
